Korean Keyboard – Do you know how to type Korean with Korean Keyboard? If you have an English language keyboard, and you wish to type Korean with it, please try the steps below. Before we start to install the Korean keyboard, let’s learn how to type Korean with your Korean keyboard and memorise the Korean keyboard layout (as image above). From the image above, remember that Korean consonants are on our left, and Korean vowels are on our right. To type Korean tensed consonants and two Korean combined vowels shift key will be needed. Remember the last four key (Z X C V) on your left are the four Korean Aspirated Consonants. For other Korean combined vowels such as 왜 you may just need to press ㅇ+ㅗ+ㅐ = D H O without space bar. When you want to type two or three Korean words such as 저는, type it without space bar, press ㅈ + ㅓ + ㄴ + ㅡ + ㄴ =  W J S M S, two Korean words will automatically showed.

Steps to install Korean Keyboard

  • 1. Go to “Start” and choose Control Panel. Click “Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options”.
  • 2. Click “Regional and Language Options”.
  • 3. A new window will pop out. Choose “Languages” and click “Details”.
  • 4. A Text Services and Input Languages window will pop out. At the Installed Services there, click “Add”.
  • 5. Choose Input Language – “Korean”, Keyboard layout/IME – “Korean” and click “ok”.

After you have installed the Korean keyboard, click “EN” (the Language bar) on your Taskbar right corner – click “Show the Language Bar”, click on the “EN English” again and choose Korean. Click on the “A Han/Eng”, change it to “가 Han/Eng”. You may type Korean with your Korean keyboard now. You can practice typing in both English and Korean. Just click the “가 Han/Eng” and change it to “A Han/Eng” to type Englsih. Try to type Korean with your Korean keyboard now!
